Radon rough-ins in new homes

Many newer homes have a radon rough-in. Finishing one is often the cheapest fix there is.

A rough-in is a pipe placed under the slab when the house was built, capped in the basement and labelled. It doesn't do anything until a fan is added.

If your new home tests over 200 Bq/m³, finishing the rough-in usually means running pipe from the cap to the outside and adding a fan. It's typically the lower end of the cost range.
